Yanni Hufnagel’s Recruiting Trackrecord

Recruiting is one of the most important parts of a successful program in today’s college basketball world. Without talented players, even the best coaches have a tough time having success. Yanni Hufnagel is a young coach that has proven he has a great ability to recruit players. Hufnagel has had success getting great talent at every school he has coached. His talent for developing players has been noticed and praised by many.


After growing up in Scarsdale, New York Yanni Hufnagel began to seek out opportunities to work as a coach. While still a graduate assistant at Oklahoma University, Hufnagel got a chance to work with the mens basketball team. He began to show a talent for developing players. Working and developing Blake Griffin is what made him really stand out. Hufnagel’s work at Oklahoma was beginning to earn him lots of attention.


After Oklahoma, the next stop for Yanni Hufnagel was Harvard University. With the help of head coach Tommy Amaker, Hufnagel really began to shine as a recruiter and player developer. While at Harvard, Hufnagel worked exclusively with Jeremy Lin, a standout at Harvard. Yanni also played a pivotal role in recruiting Wesley Saunders another standout college player. Yanni Hufnagel’s success earned him lots of praise from media and coaches. People were taking notice of the work he was doing.


After Harvard, Hufnagel would have several other stops. He would help form a top 30 recruiting class at Vanderbilt. Later, while working with Cuonzo Martin he help sign two five star recruits at California University. One of those recruits, Jaylen Brown is currently in the NBA with the Boston Celtics.


Yanni Hufnagel has put together an amazing resume. He has demonstrated a unique ability to recruit and develop players. The Odds are high that Yanni Hufnagel will be working as a head coach in the near future.
